Presumably this is by the same guy who did the Britney Spears morph I posted over on Eatthis.inmusic.ca recently. It’s a morph video of the evolution of Lindsay Lohan’s face. Creepy and really, really compelling. What is is about these things that make them so damned fascinating? And why has she done this to herself?

In other news, I’m starting to lose hope for Lindsay Lohan and that’s such a shame. Not only is she a really good actress and the star of Mean Girls, the best high school movie ever (in my mind…today), but I feel like life has been really fucking mean to her. Just a sense I get from the fact that her parents are allegedly total batshiat crazy wacka ding hoy nutbars, as well as the endless abuse she takes from tabloids and the public. It’s like watching someone sink under the weight of her own tragedy, as entertainment.

This is particularly amusing to me because my husband and I have our own version of this that dates back to about 2002, and I think mine might even go back to the mid nineties and have been invented with a different friend. OUR goth dance moves included “I’m a moth,” “vacuuming the floor” and “finding the contact lens.” Ask me to demonstrate when we meet in person.

So, this video by San Francisco’s Hubba Hubba Revue (via Laughing Squid) is just an extension of a theme. Good job. Watch and learn, goth grasshoppers, watch and learn.

OK, really?

I don’t think I’m terribly easy to gross out. I have an acquaintance who practices amaroli – the ayurvedic term for “urine therapy,” meaning she drinks her own pee – and I’m OK with that, even if I think it’s weird and probably not doing her any good. But this is goddam disgusting: eggs soaked and cooked in the urine of little boys. It’s a Chinese delicacy, according to Reuters. Specifically in the eastern Chinese city of Dongyang.

“Basins and buckets of boys’ urine are collected from primary school toilets. It is the key ingredient in “virgin boy eggs”, a local tradition of soaking and cooking eggs in the urine of young boys, preferably below the age of 10.

“There is no good explanation for why it has to be boys’ urine, just that it has been so for centuries.”

The claim is that they have remarkable health properties.

First they are soaked, then boiled in the piss. Then the shells are cracked and they simmer some more, in the piss.

The eggs then sell for $0.24.

Among the ailments they’re purported to stave off are heat stroke and joint pain.

Chinese medical experts, however, aren’t so sure and some are “warning about sanitary issues surrounding the use of urine to cook the eggs.”

The holy grail for many or most filmmakers and novelists is the brilliant, funny, sad trifecta. Some have achieved it, others it has eluded. But all should take note and watch this hairy drunken man perform the whole of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” in the back of an RCMP car.

“It has nothing to do with having been sort of intoxicated, as YOU PROCLAIM!” he argues. “It has to do with brotherhood of man on the Planet Earth,” before launching into a forgiveably off-key and shouty rendition of the classic. As one YouTube commenter pointed out, it would have been made perfect by the cop joining in for a “Let me go!” “Will not let you go!” exchange.

When I was 14 years old I was skipping class, hanging out in the quad smoking cigarettes and mooning over punk rock boys.

These 14-year-old twins created an interactive animation called “The Scale of the Universe 2″ which shows uh, the scale of the universe, from the teeniest matter like quantum foam to the largest – the observable universe. What the hell is wrong with kids these days?

ABC News says “Scale of the Universe 2″ was created by Cary Huang, a 14-year-old ninth grader from Moraga, California, with the help of his twin Brother Michael.

“It was not a school project — just for fun,” says Cary. “However, my science teacher loved it so much she showed [it] to the class! My brother, Michael, helped me put it on the internet.”

And yes, as the name suggests, there was a “The Scale of the Universe 1.” Cary says the first had less information in it, and the graphics needed work.

I saw this ages ago and had the good intention of posting it but I’m farking busy, OK? Get off my back. After all that initial hype, Die Antwoord never really happened, did they?

After they signed with Interscope in 2010, the Capetown hip hip group left before an album could be released, apparently because of a dispute. And I’ve been dying to see if they’ll make it once a record comes out, since I suspect they might be either too crazy, too novelty, too contrived or all three. I like them. But I think they’re pretty limited in scope.

Apparently we’ll get to see what happens soon, as their album, Ten$ion, finally drops as a self release on February 7. Here’s a new video for “I Fink U Freeky”… they might have a bit of trouble regaining that momentum.
